Our icon wine VIK, vintage 2018, recently released exclusively as the first NFT by a winery in Latin America in a double magnum format, received 98 points and was named Best Red Blend, and placed among the Top 10 red wines in the guide from renowned wine journalist and critic, Patricio Tapia.

The results were revealed in the newest edition of Descorchados 2024, and this year we received the highest scores since we began participating. VIK vintage 2018 received 98 points and was named “Best Red Blend”, as well as “Best Cachapoal entre Cordilleras”, making it one of the Top 10 best red wines in the guide

For our La Piu Belle 2021 and Milla Cala 2021, both wines received 95 points and led the ranking for “Best Cachapoal entre Cordilleras”.

From our “A” line of wines, the Carmenere 2021 (recently released in 2023), was highlighted as a “Revelation Wine” with 94 points, while the Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 received 93 points.

For our La Piu Belle Rosé 2023, the Descorchados team included it among the “Best Rosés” ranking, as well as the “Best Cachapoal entre Cordilleras” with 93 points.

The panel is led by Patricio Tapia, who evaluates the wines every year in two phases: the first is a private tasting with the winemakers, in our case Tapia met with our winemaker Cristián Vallejo during October, where they discussed the vintage history and the work that is ongoing. This was also an opportunity to discuss in person the sensorial experience at the time the wine was tasted.

The next step saw the Descorchados editorial team tasting the wines with the best scores again, this time blind and without the presence of the winemakers. The only information they have is the origin of the grapes used to make the wine, and wines that are similar in style and origin.
